Dear Glenpool High School Students, Families, and Community,

We wrapped up another successful week at school, and I want to thank you for your ongoing support as our students continue settling into their daily routines.

This week, we are thrilled to bring back Breaking Down the Walls, a transformational program facilitated by Jason "JJ" Jedamski. We partnered with Ignite2Unite a few years ago and saw incredible growth and connection among our students, so we are excited to offer this experience once again.

Through interactive workshops and storytelling, Breaking Down the Walls helps students look past stereotypes, share their personal experiences, and build authentic peer connections across campus. It creates a supportive environment where students realize they are not alone and learn the value of empathy and community.

We are truly looking forward to this week as we continue our mission of building better Warriors—academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for your partnership and for sharing your wonderful children with us every day.

Attendance is a top focus for us this school year. To ensure student safety and accurate reporting, parents must verify any absences and late arrivals with our attendance office.

Absence & Late Arrival Verification
Please call Mrs. Herniman at ext. 588 (voicemail is available) or email clherniman@glenpoolps.org whenever your student is absent or arriving late. As shared in our student handbook meetings, unverified absences require our School Resource Officer (SRO) to assist in locating students, which significantly increases the likelihood of a formal truancy citation. Unverified morning periods for late arrivals are also subject to truancy and disciplinary action.

These will be written by our School Resouce Officer as needed.  Students are to remain on campus unless checked out through the main office.  

Avoid Surprises: Infinite Campus App
We strongly encourage all parents to download the Infinite Campus app and turn on attendance push notifications. This gives you real-time alerts on your phone whenever your student is marked absent or tardy.

Please take some time to view the forms in Infinite Campus. There are various forms that may need attention (handbook review, virtual contract, parking permits, etc).

Free Immunizations at Glenpool Public Schools!
The Oklahoma Caring Van will be at Glenpool Schools on Wednesday, September 2, from 9:30–11:30 AM to provide free immunizations for eligible students who are missing required vaccines.

Eligible students include those who are uninsured, covered by SoonerCare/Medicaid, or American Indian/Alaska Native.

If you would like your student to receive needed immunizations, please complete the attached consent form and return it to your school nurse/health assistant.

Parents are welcome to be present, but do not have to be as long as the required consent is completed.

Senior year moves fast, and staying ahead of college applications, financial aid, and campus visits is key to a smooth transition after graduation. Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 27, 2026, when high school seniors will have the opportunity to attend the GPACAC Okmulgee Area Wide College Fair. This event allows students to connect directly with admissions representatives from regional universities, community colleges, career technology centers, and trade programs to ask questions and explore post-secondary options.

In addition to exploring college choices, families are encouraged to review status updates regarding Oklahoma's Promise. This program provides tuition assistance for eligible students attending Oklahoma public higher education institutions or qualified career technology programs. Seniors already enrolled in the program should ensure they are maintaining the required high school core curriculum and overall GPA standards to protect their funding as graduation approaches.

The PSAT/NMSQT  is going to be given on Oct. 21st.  This is for juniors to take as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship and for sophomores to take as practice.  It is $18 and the money is due to Ms. Baker by September 23rd. There will not be any late registrations allowed.
